Spanning Multiple drives with Media Manager
Hi,
I am a second editor on a 120min feature that I have not been able to do any work on yet. Currently we have had A LOT of trouble getting a working version of the edit to me due to a lack of understanding on moving long form projects. My study has led me to believe that media manager is the most reliable way to copy the ENTIRE project (in our case WITHOUT trimming) and after an un-successful drag and drop attempt at copying the media (some media was corrupted in the process) we have pushed forward attempting to use media manager as I have seen finish houses recommend.
The thing is, there is too much media for 1 hard drive.
I have personally only used media manager for on short form projects, never for a feature. My question is, how does media manager handle the copying of media to multiple drives? Surely apple did not limit the use of this utility to whatever the size is of the destination hard drive?
Has anyone had to use media manager twice, copying half the project at a time with individual project files to each drive, then combining later?
thanks so much in advance for any advice anyone can offer on a solid work flow here,
Jed
