I have a project shot on a one chip camera and am trying to find a way to make it look better without individual clip color correction. are their any filters that give a more cinematic look. and what is the best way to turn interlaced video into progressive and does it improve the image.

[standfast] “I have a project shot on a one chip camera and am trying to find a way to make it look better without individual clip color correction.”

Individual Clip Correction is the best way to make any project look better.

Otherwise purchase the Graeme Nattress Big Box of Tricks and just choose a “look” or purchase Magic Bullet’s “Looks.”

Of course you can throw the whole thing into Color and apply a “look” there as well. There’s a bunch in the Color FX room.

[standfast] “and what is the best way to turn interlaced video into progressive and does it improve the image.”

Turning Interlaced into progressive generally makes a video clip look worse in my experience.

As Walter says, the normall thing is to apply CC clip by clip. But if you hve record all your tape in the same conditions, you only will need to correct one clip and apply the same filter to the rest of the clips.
What I recommend you to inprove the image from a 1CCD camera is the “Nattress Chroma Sharpening”. Will really improve the look of your picture (I guess DV) as long as you set your sequence as DV50 or 8b Uncompress.
