  • Must restart otherwise playing timeline causes crash

Just like the Subject line says I have to restart before I play/capture in Final Cut. Once I have restarted it plays and runs fine…no worries. I know it sounds like a RAM problem but and I was told to run “Memtest” to detect if I have some bad RAM but everything came out good, even in single user mode.

Any suggestions would be more than appreciated because I am stuck!

    Now the tech specs:
    FC Studio 2

    Mac Pro 2 x 3Ghz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    4GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-Dimm

    NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500
Black Magic DeckLink Extreme Capture Card (playing/Capturing SDI)

Two 700Gb drives plenty of room
    OSX 10.4.10
    Quicktime Pro 7.2

For my self it sounds more like a directories problem or so. Do you use DiskWarrior or TechTools?

no I don’t use either of those.

Someone also mentioned a possible quicktime problem but I dont have a problem with quicktime at all.

    This sucks…

Vinnie, run and get you one of those applications and make your life easier.
