  • Problems Synchronizing Clips in FCP with Cinema Tools

Hi there, if anyone out there has met with a similar problem before, please share some thoughts. Thanks.

I’m currently working on FCP 5 and Cinema Tools ver.3. After filling in and managing the database of all clips in Cinema Tools, I went back into FCP to try and synchronize all those same clips. However, only certain ones would link up. Most just refused to synchronize in FCP even if the information is there in Cinema Tools.

I’m also unable to export film lists from FCP due to the missing databases (which is ultimately what I need to do).

Is this a bug in either application?

    Thanks for any input.

Did you link each record in Cinema Tools to the quicktime file that is the master clip in Final Cut Pro?

This is where the connection is made between the two programs. Final Cut tells the Cinema Tools database which quicktimes are used in the sequence. Cinema Tools looks up the frames used from the quicktime file it is linked to (connected to), and from its database of keycodes calculates the frames used in the edit and creates a list.
