I’ve been using Dip to Color for years. I’ve noticed this problem for a long time: When using it to transition between text graphics ( white over black) and video, the graphics almost always get fuzzy and aliased when the transition is very near black (I’m dipping to black). I say almost always because occasionally it looks OK. The problem only seems to appear when it’s text over black. Other sources look fine. It doesn’t seem to be format related (I’m using DVC Pro50 now).

I usually end up using 2 cross dissolves instead. But it would be nice to be able to use Dip because it’s so much quicker to apply.

    Anyone have a fix?

Pardon this most basic question, but are you rendering at full?

Yes, full rendering, full quality. I’ve been seeing it for years across many machines and versions. The only constant: AJA cards and interfaces (Kona SD, LH, and i/o).
