Unsqueeze a frame grab?
Posted by David Donnenfield on September 28, 2007 at 5:55 pmI need to grab some still images from a project shot in DVCPro HD. Unfortunately the .tif file exports as a squeezed image. Any thoughts on how I eliminate the squeezed effect? Thanks,

September 28, 2007 at 6:11 pmYou need to open it up in Photoshop and resize it to 1280X720 or 1920X1080, depending on whether you’re working at 720 or 1080. If you’re making a lot of stills, then export all of your stills to a single folder, make a Photoshop Action to resize them, and run the action on that folder.

Is there a way to export a framgrab from FCP in an un-constrained size? I have to export jpegs for use as thumbnails (88×49 pixels.) I can export quite easily, as you know, but only in constrained sizes?? -

September 28, 2007 at 6:20 pmFCP always exports stills in whatever naitive size your sequence is. If you need to export in a specific size, then you need to either resize them afterwards, or work in a sequece that’s that size.
