    hallo people

    i m woking with FCP 5.1.4 and JVC HDV 720p (deck BR-HD 50) apple G5 Q 2.5, 6.5gb ram
    i have two questions:

1-i have to capture a cassette in one big file. unchaking “create new clip in star/stop” does not seems to work… any ideas?
2-i have to “print” the timecode on screen, i would like to doit direct on capture (whit no render, the case with timecode generator or plug ins, theere are MANY cassettes)

    that it for now.
    thanks

    > 1-i have to capture a cassette in one big file. unchaking “create new clip in star/stop” does not seems to work… any ideas? < That is how HDV works, can't be changed that I know of. > 2-i have to “print” the timecode on screen, i would like to doit direct on capture (whit no render, the case with timecode generator or plug ins, theere are MANY cassettes) < You can only do this if you bring the HDV in through an external box and not through Firewire. If you bring the signal in through a box, you may be able to eliminate the stop/start detection. bogiesan

[alejo yael] “i have to “print” the timecode on screen, i would like to doit direct on capture (whit no render, the case with timecode generator or plug ins, theere are MANY cassettes)”

You can probably use the TC READER filter to play your clips with visible timecode without rendering. Set the sequence RT box to unlimited. I used that last week to play 1080i60 DVC Pro HD from a G4 Powerbook.

You do this from the camera or VTR. Turn on the display.
