I have a client who shot his film HDV60i.
What settings do I select for audio and video settings in Final Cut Pro 6?
I have tried guessing at some settings without any luck. I called the client and asked them what format did they shoot. Is that the proper question to ask my client?
I really would appreciate any help for my small production company. I don’t shoot HD and this is new to me. I have an HD camera for our broadcasting cable company but we don’t shoot HD. I can watch the client’s tape in my Canon XHA1 Camera but can’t get my firewire connection to preview the image or capture the film.

Thank you Walter for your suggestion. I went to Easy SetUp/HD for format and selected HDV-1080i60 Firewire Basic and still did not get communications with VTR.
The VRT is my Canon XHA1 Camera. I did not use my DVCAM Sony deck. I don’t believe it will capture HD.
Another couple of question: Will the DVCAM read HD? Does it make a difference if the tape is used in the DVCAM deck or camera?
I know these questions may not be answered but thought you might have a suggestion. Thank you again.

No, you need an HDV deck like the Sony M15U that we use here.
No clue on the miscommunication with your camera, we don’t touch Canon HDV stuff here so someone else will have to give you some advice on making that work.
