    Hello!

I hope this is a fairly simple request that wont be to difficult to answer! I work for a company that produces educational videos for schools in the UK and i have a batch processing problem! It needs to be sorted out by next week so any help ASAP would be very very very very much appreciated!!

My problem: I have a large number of .MOV files that i need to convert into MPEG files which then can be burnt as ISO files onto blank DVDs..

My question: Is this possible in Final Cut Pro?

If so, HOW do i do it?

COMPRESSOR. You can set it up to do a batch and then walk away…

OH…well, if you don’t have FCP already, and just have the master files for conversion…I’d look for other single CHEAPER applications for this. No need to blow $1300 on a series of applications if all you need to do is convert MOVs for DVDs. I thought you already had the software.

There has to be something that will do this conversion.

I know that Sorenson Squeeze (similar to Compressor) can do the same type of conversions.

Also, depending on your DVD authoring program, many of them convert to mpeg in the backround while you’re working on the other dvd features (like menu, etc). iDVD does this, and I’m pretty sure DVD Studio Pro does this (but I’m not 100% sure on that one). But it depends on the dvd authoring program you’re using…

Another option… if you upgrade to Quicktime Pro, you should be able to use that to convert to mpeg-2.

Hope this helps… and good luck.
