  HELP HELP HELP export from FCP then burnt to dvd but flickers

  Hi guys,

  Sorry for bad first post asking for help but I’m in dire straights!

  I’ve got a project on FCP and want to burn it to DVD.

  This is how i do it:

  File > Export > QTM then it renders and makes a QT movie, no probs there.

  Now this is where it’s going wrong.

  I’ve converted it to a Mpeg 2 Pal (i’m in the uk) via sorenson squeeze 4.3 and also via Episode Pro. I then bring into Toast and now if you place the DVD into a player it flickers like crazy.

  Any thoughts or suggestions please? It’s a mighty important project.

  “Flicker” doesn’t help much, it’s too subjective as a descriptor. you could mean you have filed issues or you could mean you have moir

  I agree with Bogie, to a point. There’s a reason NOT to let DVDSP do your encoding and it’s called Compressor. Why aren’t you using that? Letting DVDSP encode your material is like ordering dinner at a drive up window. Yuck!

  I wouldn’t used Squeeze for DVDs either, although the latest V of Episode is superb, as good or better than Compressor.

  Read the books, or at least the encoding parts. Then do some tests. Good advice.
