Hi all so we have a feature film which was originally shot (poorly) on 24p and once converted to 29.97 created severe de-intelacing. We manged to “fix” the de-interlace problem with flicker reduce and the de-interlace effects in FCP but now when transferring the film to PAL we come across severe frame skips and deinterlacing. A professional transfer house could not fix the problem anyone know of any techniques we should try or should we try Natress?
    cheers
    for any insights

    Short answer:

Provide your 24p original to a transfer house for the PAL convert.

    Long answer:

Nattress makes great products. They offer incredible value.

Using the Nattress Standards Converter requires reading the directions (really) and a having a pretty good grasp of the nomenclature around these transfers.

Conversions with the Nattress Standards Converter are very render intensive

To get to a good PAL, you’ve got to get back to the 24p media. The conversion to 29.97fps was done wrong, it sounds, and adding the filters to “fix” is not going to help.

There’s no standards conversion that can fix this kind of thing. You’ve got to get back to the 24p media in a 24p timeline, then a PAL transfer is as easy as a quick trip to cinema tools.

I have a music video project edited in HDV 24p. Is it possible to go straight to PAL 25fps using Nattress?

Easier to do a 24 to 25 conform in CT
