exporting single frames
I cant seem to remember how to export single frames from FCP, can anyone help? I know its super easy but since I upgraded to the new FCP studio I cant seem to remember how to do it.
I was also curious if their was a better way to export large numbers of frames for work in Photoshop. (yes I know that it will be lots of work no matter what but if there is a better way I would like to know)

Did you look it up in your manual? It’s got a whole friggin chapter. C’mon, it’s a book and/or a thing called HELP at the menu bar.

In case the manual isn’t clear, you export single frames by parking on a frame and using the export > quicktime coversion option. Make sure to set the output to still image and choose the format you’re like.
Large batches of stills get trickier. When I did this before I made a bin for the stills and then took freeze frames from the clips I wanted and dragged them from the viewer into the bin. When I had all the images I wanted, I batch exported to some still image format. Because of the nature of the project, I needed a still from every frame in the timeline and the first was as good as any, so I was able to automate the process with a keyboard and mouse recorder.
The searchable PDF manual is your very best friend.

But actually the help was for all the nice folks who try to help people on these
forums. Spending time answering the most basic questions when the answers
are right there at your fingertips is such a waste.
I subscribe to the school of “give a person a fish and he eats for a day, teach them how
to do a simple search in the manual they already own and they don’t waste everyone’s time”.
I think it goes something like that.
