As I don’t have much results posting in audio…

I’m checking to buy a new or used microphone shotgun battery powered to replace my rode video mic.

    I’m looking at those:

    Azden SGM-2X Professional Mic system
RODE NTG-2 Dual Powered Directional Condenser Microphone.

If you know any other worth noticing in the 250$ price range.

You think maybe there’s another forum this would be more appropriate to? It’s got zero to do with FCP.

    All the best,

    “zero?”

on my timeline, sound is half of each project. . . the other half is picture. we probably don’t talk nearly enough about good sound.

as the guy said, he wasn’t getting any replies on the audio forum, but hopefully Steven’s link helped him out a bit…

    thanks again!

He’s talking about a production recording, a replacement camera microphone. There are production, format and camera specific forums right here on the COW. If you want to talk about audio in FVP, please go ahead.

    All the best,

Some of us here on the FCP forum know more than squat about audio. I am sure many editors will put in their 2 cents about lenses, then so they should be able to offer an opinion about microphones.

Here’s the formula – buy the best mic you can afford. Rode’s are very good cheap mics. DPA, Schoeps and Sennheiser are better. Schoeps has a new lightweight shotgun. This is my recommendation but if you need cheap then Rode has the running. The Chinese are producing good cheap mics too, but mainly studio mics, not location directionals.

    Thanks Michael.

I’m sorry I did such a mess with the forum .

I think that there are too many sometimes we just cant get answers because the forum for this purpose is deserted.

Maybe thread subject isn’t enough to separate the subjects, but I would give much more visibility to everyones questions.
