I have a hard drive that has been digitized to on a macbook-pro the footage is XDCam-HD and the FCP is version 6.01. Taking the drive to a G5 running the same version of FCP I get the error “this project is unreadable or may be too new for this version of Final Cut”.

Older versions of the project will open but not any ones from the past month or so. I’ve removed all the preferences from the the G5, repaired permissions and software update tells me that nothing on the G5 is up for an update.

Any help or similar experience greatly appreciated. Of course I need to get the project open.

The drive is a Lacie D2 drive and when I unmount the drive and attempt to open a copy of the project on the desk top it opens up fine, obviously all the media is offline. Still any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
