  DVCam/Mini DV deck with time code?

  A bit off topic this morning. We are looking for a VTR that can play and record Mini DV or DVCam tapes. It also needs the ability to record/jam timecode from an external source. Ideally it should offer SDI I/O as an option as well.
  We need this to make Mini DV dubs with matching timecode of Digibeta and HDCam footage for use in offline editing.
  Back in the old days I would simply call our Sony rep and ask this question. Well…the old days are gone and so are most of the sales reps.
  Anyone out there in the pasture have a quick solution to this?

  Hi Tom,

  I’m pretty sure the Sony 1500 does this, a friend on mine has one, I will ask him later as it’s early here still. It does have a slot for an SDI card, that I know.

  take a look at the DSR-1500A or DSR-1800, they both have an option for SDI i/o, and im pretty sure that ext TC can be synced as well.

  hmm… I wonder what this button does…
