    hi i have a adjustment layer above a heap of layers, what if i didnt want it to effect certain layers, is there a a way to do this?????

    Normally no,

    though if they’re not overlapped by other layers,
    you might precompose the layers, then use them as an inverted alpha track matte on the adjustment layer,

    or Duh: but them above the adjustment layer…
    otherwise no: apply the effect to every layer, or to groups of layers by pre-comping them.

    No, not really. Like the others said, the best way is to pre-compose and apply the effects directly to the pre-comp.
