    I’m torn…

I have a Matrox RT.X2 Card $900 was a nice deal. I haven’t built my new system yet & am thinking of a FCP6 system instead.

I have 2 windows, Matrox rtx 100 systems w/PP2.0 & a single P4 300mh Process. in each. & love the RT but hate the instability. I do 100% DV right now but will be doing hdv soon.

Money is not an object. I do 80% long form weddings, 20% commercial, but would like to see more commercial work. I will keep my 2 existing systems.

PP has not held me back at all in my industry but I feel a strong urge to add a FCP6 system because it has gained a tremendous amount of market share in the commercial industry & PP hasn’t. I like things FAST, VERY FAST.

What are your thoughts on comparing these 2 systems pros & cons???

    Thanks,
    Steve from NY

FCP has become the industry standard, and if you want FAST, then an 8-core Mac Pro is just the ticket… it’s the fastest desktop computer in the world right now…

I can’t say how much better/worse things are between PP and FCP… but can say I love FCP coming from an Avid I think that says a lot.
