I reloaded my copy of final cut tonight from the download CD, and now I’m unable to open any of my old projects. The software seems to be running fine (I’m able to open the program, import video, and edit in the timeline), but whenever I try to open a project that I’ve been working on I get a “General Error (41)” message and it doesn’t open at all. Any ideas to help? This is a pretty tense time for me to lose my ability to work as I have a project due in just a few weeks.
    thanks, Chris

Do you have a link to the “download CD” you refer to?

Sorry. I’m not sure what this means. By “link” do you mean a URL for the software/version I’m using? Or one from which I can download the software online?
    thanks, cg

Apple tech support put me on the right track this morning–needed to update my version of the software. Thanks for the help. -Chris

I am having the same problem, have read this thread, trashed my prefs, repaired permissions (several times) tried to open from autosave vault on another computer– no dice.
    Solutions?
