  Any Ideas for soft filters plugins

  Looking for Softening Filter to add in post to HD footage. I would like to add just a bit of softness to take the edge off. Any ideas on free plugins or ideas. Thanks

  Gaussian Blur…that is part of the FCP standard set. A 1-point or even .5 should soften things up.

  Yup…this is one of the “gotchas” of HD. It is VERY sharp and VERY clear. Actors don’t like it because it is TOO good. Even film softens them up a little…but not HD. And this is why makeup artists need to be qualified for makeup for HD shooting in order to work on an HD project. The style of makeup is very different than usual.
