    HI,

I’m trying to capture from a non-controllabel deck (dvd/vcr deck). I”ved done this in the past with success but now it does not work. I’m connecting the non-cont. deck to my dv deck (via s-video and rca cables) then firewire from dv deck to my system. I have non-cont. presets set up for my capture in FCP. I see the image on my monitor and have audio on my deck…so the deck is receiving the material, just my system is not (not seeing image or audio in log and capture box). What gives?

    mac 1.33 ghz
    1 g ram
    OS 10.4.10
    FCP 5.1.4

    thx.

If the DV device is turned on in VCR mode and is not recognized by FCP when the application is launched, check the cables and the ports. Details on the system, software, and devices would be helpful. You’ll get generic answers with generic information.

    All the best,

Does the application recognize the device when the application is launched? Does the computer see the device when it’s connected? Are there any other devices connected to the computer?

    All the best,

    Tom
