    Hi.

I wonder if i go with BMD HDPro and HD Link as for HD
can i see decent SD also with this configuration.

I plan to connect 40″-50″ LCD tv or plasma or something
    similar to HDLink.
Generally with full HD rez but does SD look normal on that ?
My source material is from Digibeta and it is progressive by nature
i.e. shot on film. I guess it is possible to get material on digibeta
as 16:9 instead of downscaled to 4:3.

Why i do ask this is now i mainly do SD.

[Margus] “can i see decent SD also with this configuration.”

The answer is possibly. All HD monitors handle HD well, but only some HD monitors display SD well. You need to test the prospective monitor that you’re thinking about buying and see how it handles SD with your own eyes.

Personally, even though my Panasonic plasma does a pretty good job of displaying SD, I almost always rely on my CRT broadcast monitor when cutting SD. Your own mileage may vary…

    Hi.

Generally i have Sony CRT TV (yes not pro monitor)hooked on my Beta SP so i can see interlaced if needed. Larger display or TV is intended for client to see from a little distance. My question is if i should go with
lower rez display instead on HD one?

Only you can make that determination. As I said earlier, test several HD monitors before you buy to see if any display SD well enough for your own eyes to give you the confidence that you clients will be satisfied. The Panasonic profesonal series plasmas do a pretty good job.
