  options for tapeless spot distribution?

  I just became aware that DG & Fastchannel merged last year, and although I really don’t want to have to buy or lease their hardware, we really want to start distributing spots as files rather than making analog Betacam dubs and hoping for the best. A handful of cable providers are starting to accept “transport stream” mpg2 files, but the affiliates I spoke with said that DGFastchannel is the only thing they currently support.

  Any ideas?

  I can’t think of any.

  What you said is what I’ve heard as well.

  Those really are the only 2 options.
