  • FCP 5.1.4 and Kona 3 – Digitizing issues.

I’ve been working with the Kona 3 now for a few months and it’s great. However recently it started acting weird and I’m not sure what to do. I’ve looked everywhere and can’t seem to find a solution.

    Here’s what’s going on.

I am trying to digitize a 1080i source from a Sony SRW-5500 deck and down convert it to 525. The Kona control panel is set to 1080 source, 1080 frame buffer, and down convert to 525 on SDI1. When I go into FCP, my easy set up is set for 525 10bit. My external monitor shows the image @ 525. All is well up to here.

Then I open the capture tool. The Kona card immediately switches back to 1080i on SD1. My external monitor also changes – it continues to show a 525 image, but that image is the upper corner of the original 1080 source. It’s like it zoomed in on it.

Is this a bug? Am I missing a setting? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
