Has anyone had major problems re QT 7.2? Not playing HD and 10 bit files? showing a white screen? and on FCP this message “codec not found. you may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card” ” out of memory” even if you have 4.5gb?
this issue is causing me fits and costing me $$. can someone please help?
    thanks

    thanks,
I tried it but I guess since I had tried to remove QT 7.2 it didn’t work. I tried to remove it but even though all the files are gone it still says I have it on when i try to install the 7.1.6.
what shall I do? re install 7.2 and then go through that procedure again?
    I am 100% in the dark…..sorry

Yeah, I don’t know either, save an archive and install of the OS.

Try removing the receipt for QT. Library/Receipts/QuickTime 7xx.pkg

The receipt tells OSX that QT is installed. After it is removed you should be able to instal QT 7.16.

Or, call Apple Support and ask them how to back grade.

I did that when I removed QT initially…..it still says QT is installed.
