I am cutting a 30 second commercial. I’m using FCP 5.1.4 with only a firewire drive to import. I do have access to a media 100 machine which can go to tape with a broadcast signal.
Since this is a time senistive project, and I work faster on FCP, is there away to edit/export out of FCP in a broadcast signal without bringing everything in broadcast? (few!!!)

Get a capture card for your system (if you have a MacPro or G5) and color correct it to fall within broadcast specs, and then output to a tape format that they require…digibeta, betaSP…whathave you.

If you only have firewire, then you are limited. Is the footage DV? Will the network/station accept a DV master? If not, then you can still color correct to broadcast specs, output to DV and then have that dubbed to the format they want.
