  how much RAM for FCS on octo core?

  I’ve seen reports of AE CS3 using from 15-24 GB or RAM for rendering on an octo core. I’m not using AE right now, so I was wondering if anyone knows how much RAM is likely to be used by FCP and Motion on an octo core, both now and after Leopard is released.

  You need at least 8GB to have it run optimally.

  I have heard that as well. 1GB MINIMUM per core.
