I am using FCP 5.1 on an Intel MacBook Pro and I am getting nothing but dropped frames warnings when I try to playback a sequence. It plays back for about 2 seconds then the waring pops up. It seems to get progressively worse?!

I have lowered the playback quality but nothing has improved.

    Anybody what’s up?

    Thanks
    Jarod

What codec are you trying to playback? DV?

Your hard drive is too slow. What kind of drive are you using for your media?

If you search this forum for ‘dropped frames’, you’ll find a wealth of information that can help you solve your problem.

I think it had something to do with the codec i was trying to playback. I was using animation (the same as most of my clips). I then used DVCPRO50 and there was no problem.

    Still seems odd to me.

    Thanks guys.
