Just got final cut studio 2 yesterday and after imaging my drive and installing the software, it seemed to work without a hitch. I have a few questions though, maybe i read the fine print wrong or whatever but isnt pro-res supposed to be an easy setup for capturing? I am running a dual 3ghz mac pro with 5gb of ram, a kona 3 card, and a 2.4 tb external sata raid 5+0. I started toying around with the new final cut and noticed a lot of nice new things and a lot of the same things. Whats the proper way to setup for capturing HD from an f-500 hd deck or an m-2000 hd deck and bring it in pro-res HQ in the system? Ive always just used the kona 3 easy setup for uncompressed 8bit 29.97 and had no problems, but i want to try out the pro res codec to see what it looks like and im not sure how to setup my easy setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
