Compressor 3 problems – artifacts
Installed FCP2 on a clean HD, new MAC OX 10.9.
Having lots of problems with Compressor 3. Quits part way through. Digital artifacts in the video.
Using a single pass 6.5 setting. Same one I’ve been using for years wth great success.I was having trouble exporting to Compressor from FCP timeline. So today I rendered 8-bit QuickTime movies. Then compressed those. In 5 out of 6 videos I had some type of digital artifcat at least once (that’s all it takes to ruin the file).
Anyone having the same type of problem? How do you get your video onto DVD to show the client without the artifacts?
I saw somebody else’s post about not doing anything else on the computer when it is compressing. I thought that was one of the things Don Peebles was pushing in his demo? Anyway, today I might have been doing some Photoshop stuff at the same time. I’m not sure about the other times I’ve had problems.
Tomorrow I’ll try compressing with nothing else open and not doing anything on the computer. Very agrivating though. Finish the show but can’t output it to DVD to show the client. And you have to watch every second of the MPEG 2 to make sure there are no artifacts. After editing the same thing for days if not weeks, that last 10 to 20 minutes of watching it again is deadly.
Thanks for any help you can provide (or words of wisdom) {or comfort}!
