Problem with Speed Effect
I posted this in the FCP Basic forum but got no response so I thought I’d try here.
When I add a speed effect of 100% but reversed, the image gets blurry, even after rendering.
If I turn off frame blending, the motion from the camera pan looks like crap, but when the panning stops, the image is clear.Here’s what I’m trying to do:
I shot a sign for a few seconds, then panned away very quickly. I want to reverse the shot so it looks like I panned to the sign very quickly. When applying the reverse speed effect, the sign is not clear after the pan.Am I doing something wrong?

try moving the image up or down 1 pixel in the motion tab. the field order may be getting reversed.

Thanks for the tip. I tried moving it up and down 1, 2, and 3 pixels but that didn’t help.
We run into this problem quite a bit, usually with graphics or video that have been resized or moved on the screen using Motion in FCP.
I’ve never experienced interlace problems like this with the other nonlinear systems I’ve used for the past 12 years. But with FCP it’s a constant problem.

You might want to drop by the apple.com forums and register your feedback. Tehre’s a folder for such suggestions/comments/complaints.
However, the release of the iPhone and the thousands of complaints being psoted every day have brought that forum site to its knees. The admins have disabled search and feedback for now. Could take a few weeks for things to settle out.

I have been experiencing a dimilar issue using FCP 5.1.4 and can’t find an answer anywhere. When I try to rotate an image using the motion tab it gets blurry- didn’t used to happen but now it does…vexing.
