Is this possible? There is no dvcpro50 capture preset. I have searched the interweb looking for the preset, couldn’t find it. Called Apple and the guy I talked to didn’t know much. I noticed that FCP supports converting your digitized footage to dvcpro50, but for some reason doesn’t support actually digitizing at DVCpro50. Is this true? Or am I just slowly losing my mind?

Change your capture setting to DV50. If that’s not an option, Duplicate the basic DV capture setting and change the Compressor to DVCPRO50.

You edit these by going to “Final Cut Pro”>”Audio Video Settings…”> Capture Presets tab. If you need to do this again, make yourself an Easy Setup-

[Graber] “There is no dvcpro50 capture preset.”

Sure there is!!! For some unknown reason our friends at Apple have chosen to label the Easy Setup as DV50. Who knows why, and who knows why the label was never changed in all these years after they were told about it???

You might also need to make sure that the SHOW ALL button is selected in the easy setup selection menu.

If it’s still not listed, just create your own as has already been stated in the thread.
