I used adobe illustrator to create multiple shapes that I brought into AE 7 to use as masks, and then I added Trapcode 3D Stoke to the new masks. Is there a way to tell 3D stroke to Start from a certain vertex on the mask?

Select the point you want to start with then go to to Layer>Mask>Set First Vertex.

    That should do it.

You can always use the start, end and offset controls in 3DStroke. unfortunately there is no way to get the real length of a mask/ path with expressions, so it’s not exactly easy to correlate the percentages to that, but it should do. Other than that work with the first vertex trick Perl38 was pointing out. Just make sure all your masks are closed properly, or you won’t have that option (you can only choose the end vertices on open paths in that case).
