  FATAL ERROR: ExtendScript Toolkit fails to launch

  The ExtendScript Toolkit fails to launch and produces the following error:

  FATAL ERROR: XPEP launch info mismatch!

  Any ideas how to resolve this?

  Fixed. Discovered the solution in a post on an Adobe Forum. Problem arose after installation of Photoshop CS3 Beta. There is a conflict between the ESTK 1 and the ESTK 2 instaled by the beta.

  From the Forum:
  On a Mac –

  /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Launch/estoolkit

  On a PC –

  C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Launch\estoolkit

  If you have installed the beta you’ll see 2 sub-folders, “1.0” and “2.0”. Remove the “2.0” folder and ESTK 1 *should* work again. If you launch ESTK 2 again, the folder will be re-created, and you’ll have to remove it again to launch 1.0.
