In FPC 6 the photo jpeg work flow has been changed. Gamma tags on photos can be set in FCP but not mov files. If you use photo jpeg codec , FPC6 can not render its transitions ( like dissolves, wipes ) with proper gamma levels. This also affects the new compressor. Photo jpeg gamma levels are changed. File footage libraries (Artbeats) that sell their clips using the photo jpeg codec must be re-rendered at the time of this post.
If anyone knows of a fix for Photo Jpeg RGB workflow in FCP 6 please let us know.
    Thanks

    Hi there,
is there any solution to this coming up? What does Apple say to this? I just tapped into the same bug/feature. Why is there no button in FCP (and other software) that just turns off all this “gamma-assuming” ?
I guess I will have to downgrade FCP to version 5 again…

    Hey there,
Does anyone know if the gamma bug for FCP 6/ photo jpeg was ever fixed? Like some of the other folks, we have hundreds of hours of photo jpeg footage digitized, and haven’t gone to FCP 6 because of the problem.
