Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Dropped Frames

  • Posted by Edsdking on June 11, 2007 at 6:48 pm

I’m running Final Cut Pro 5.0.4 on a mac G5 osx 10.4.9. Just started having this problem. I cut together some shots in the timeline and it plays back fine. As soon as I make ANY modifications (add a transition, title anything) the sequence drops frames throughout. But, if I duplicate the sequence, the copy plays fine. HELP!

Before anyone can answer your question they would have to know:

    1) what flavor of video are you cutting?

    2) what flavor are your media drives?

Strange. What codec are you using?

[edsdking] “media is stored on a mac os extended 233gb drive”

Is this your system drive, or an additional devoted media drive?

    It’s an additional devoted drive.

Strange, as this is a sudden occurance, something appears to have changed your throughput.

Have you made any changes recently? Is your media drive getting close to full? Does this happen after rendering the timeline too?
