  uninstall FCP Studio before install FCP studio 2?

  I am running the education version of FCP studio 2 which can’t be upgraded, so I had to purchase the new studio. My question is, do I need to uninstall FCP 5.1.4 before I install the new studio 02?

  Any hints on this would be appreciated,

  No, just follow the instructions on the installer.

  You will also get advice to reinitialize your drive and reinstall everything, including your OS. Silly, in my opinion, but it seems to be a popular prophylaxis.
