FCP 6.0 problems
Posted by Simon Morgan on June 5, 2007 at 2:35 pmJust upgraded to FCP 6.0… using Mac Pro 3.0 Kona LH card… just looking at a DV timeline thru my Kona card and as I am playing everything gets further and further out of sync… audio plays at real time but the picture starts to lag further and further behind. This is a project that was updated from FCP 5…

June 5, 2007 at 3:02 pmJust to add… just installed a sonnet PCIe 4 port SATA card yesterday in my machine (slot 4) and moved my Kona card down to slot 2… tried opening a new project… importing a clip into FCP 6 and still have the same video lag… it’s playing back fine in FCP but my Kona card gets further and further behind as it plays.

June 5, 2007 at 3:27 pmHave you upgraded to the Kona drivers specifically written for FCS2?

June 5, 2007 at 4:45 pmalso, when I fire my mac up it is telling me that my Kona card is running below maximum supporting speed… should I take my sonnet card out of slot 4… I just switched them yesterday… my Kona card was working fine before when I had it in slot 4… and had no sonnet card.
sounds like a conflict?…

June 5, 2007 at 5:00 pmLook in the Application directory where all your Kona apps are — they always include an unistaller. AJA advises that you always uninstall and reboot before installing their new drivers. You should uninstall the new ones now, then reboot, then reinstall.
And yes, if you’re getting the message that your Kona card is not running at the proper speed you either need to move it or need to configure your PCIe slots properly.
Call AJA for help if need more help… They are wonderful people.

June 5, 2007 at 5:59 pmHey Morgster, what kind of machine/RAM do you have? Have you tried copying and pasting everything from your old sequence to a new one? That seemed to work for some people who have upgraded their projects to 6.

I would put the Kona back were it was and find a new slot for the eSATA card. I’m running a KONA 3 with 2 Sonnet 5 bay eSATA raids and have no sync problems with FCS2.
