  …send a clip on the timeline to a specific timecode?

  I know it sounds really simple (and it probably is!) but i can’t see an easy way to do this!

  I have a clip thats at one end of the edit, i know the exact timecode i want to shift it to, but i am unsure the easiest way to send it there…

  please help an mildly aging editor who’s mind is starting to desert him!

  The fastest and easiest way is to type the timecode into the timecode window above the canvas — that jumps to that location on the timeline. Then edit in that spot as you nomally would.

  Oh well !

  Don’t you just hate getting used to a feature in one package, then finding its not available in an other?

  Not one button but you can do it like this:

  – Select the clip
  – Cmd-X to cut it
  – Enter the timecode you want it to start at, then press return/enter
  – Cmd-V to paste the clip at the playhead position
