  FCP closes when capturing

  I’m running FCP 5.1.4 on a dual 1Ghz G4 with OS X 10.4.9 and…obviously 1 gig of ram. Whenever I try to capture footage, the application closes after a minute or so. It doesn’t give any warning, error code, or anything like that…it just goes to my desktop as if FCP was never running.

  Here’s what I’ve tried after going thru several archive posts by people with similar problems:

  trashing prefs (according to Mr. Stone’s instructions)
  digitized from different tapes
  changing scratch disk
  trashing old FCP and reinstalling just FCP app (not DVD Studio Pro, etc.)
  obviously, restarted several times…

  Anyone have any other suggestions?

  A couple things to try:

  1. Make sure you don’t have any anti-virus software installed. If you do sniff it all out
