  • Connecting monitors to FCP system

Hi, I just bought a new Mac pro, fully loaded, with the latest version of FCP Studio 2 and Adobe’s CS3. It’s my dream system, but I need to know what I need to buy to connect a monitor and vector scope to the system. I want to buy the panasonic BT-LH1700W monitor since it has a waveform monitor built in. So, what hardware do I need to purchase to connect such devices to my Mac and FCP?
    Thanks, Jason

Decklink Extreme HD, AJA Kona LHe or Kona 3, Matrox MXO.

An HD capture card of some sort. The MXO is the only one of the bunch that doesn’t capture…output only.

What sort of footage will you be working with?

I am in the same position as you. I switched to Mac from Matrox Digisuite where I had video monitoring and took it for granted.
I have seen ads for this Intensity HDMI by Blackmagic-design for only $249. I don’t know how well it works.
    Anybody know about it?

    Good luck.

I’m going to start with the HVX200 and add the HPX500 next year.
