I’m working on a slideshow and every time i use a cross dissolve between pics, the motion i applied (left to right movement) to the incoming pic is still until the end of the dissolve. i set the dissolves to 3 seconds so the stillness is very noticable, esp. when it jerks after the dissolve.

    Any ideas?

Thanks a lot! that video really explained plenty for me. now it brings up a new question:

i have about 80 pics i need to fit in this slideshow. i didn’t enlarge them as you suggest, and most are under 300kbs. i don’t mind having black on the sides of some pics, cuz they are 60 years old and it creates a mood that i like. is it important that i go back and enlarge all the pics in photoshop, and if so, is there a way to replace the pics already in the timeline with their new bigger duplicates?

and if so, will all my motion and transitions remain intact?

i know this is a lot to hit you with, any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you want them to be full sized in FCP, you have to enlarge them somewhere. Photoshop would be the better place. And if you had the Genuine Fractals plugin, all the better. As for replacing them in the timeline…gotta do it manually. AFAIK

You can select the pic in the Browser and hit APPLE-C (copy) then OPTION-V (Paste Attributes) and choose CONTENT..but as the pic have different sizes, all the moves wouldn’t match. Best to to all the resizing and upconverting BEFORE you edit.
