    Dear COW,
I’m looking for creative filters for my FCP 5.4 system. Any advice on the best?
(Virtix?) Does the Final Cut Studio 2 (upgarde) and FCP 6 offer a bevy of extra filters?
Is that a better bet than getting filters from an outside source?
    Thanks
    Joe

Do a google search on third party plug-ins for FCP. Only you can determine what “best” is. I use Boris Red, BCC, CGM, CHV, 55mm, Joe’s, and Nattress. Each has its own purpose.

FCP 6 does not offer anything more.

For you, I would suggest Boris Red or BCC from Boris. I think Digital Juice products would be good for you too.

One thing to keep in mind, do not over use filters just because you have them.

Check out FXFactory by Noise Industries… https://www.noiseindustries.com

Their filters are FXPlug, and their program FXFactory lets you create and adjust filters. Other companies are making compatible filters like SugarFX that have generators that are entire templates like open, lower 3rds, bumpers, etc.

    SugarFX https://www.ilearnfast.com/sugarfx_index.html#

All the FXFactory stuff and SugarFX stuff is 15 day fully functional free trial!
