    Hello

I’ve used AE 6.5 on a Dual 2.5MHz G5 (4GB RAM OS 10.4.8) for the last couple years (creating crude animation as a previsualiztion tool) with relatively few problems.

Recently, I decided to demo After Effects 7 and have been experiencing frequent crashes. I’ve been changing the frame rate and re-rendering a number of compositions in older projects, and the crashes occur after I change the frame rate and at the moment that I hit “enter” to close the “Composition Settings” dialog box.

I’ve already tried lowering the “Memory Usage” and “RAM Cache” settings (down to 60% and 50% respectively), but to little effect.

I’m puzzled. Any insight would be appreciated.

The code used to create the software for AFX 7 wasn’t made with the intention of Duel Intel Macs. It works, but not to it’s full potential. Depending on how many effects and keyframes you are using- this could be the cause. But not to worry, through the grapevines I’ve heard Adobe is soon to release a “Universal” AFX that will be completely compatable with the Intel Macs. At least yours is just a trial version :0). Hope this helps.
