Sata Storage Solutions..Again :-)
Posted by Jas L. on May 21, 2007 at 4:17 amHey
Anyone heard, seen, tried or have rec’d any feedback on any of the products from the following:
https://dulcesystems.com/ – interested in the Quad and DuoQuad
https://www.kanotechnologies.com/products/xspand.cfm
I guess Caldigit SVRHD is still being worked on? Any updates on that?
Thanks

What type of stuff do you normally work on? That’s as important as any brand information.
BTW, Dolce is brand new. I’m not sure if anyone here has their stuff yet. And Kano is not a brand often mentioned.

May 21, 2007 at 4:35 amDulce I have only heard of because of the banner ads I have seen here on the Cow. haven’t heard of Kano…
These might be too new for anyone to have tested.
You wanna try?

May 21, 2007 at 1:06 pmWe have clients using DV to uncompressed HD. Mostly the work is done in 8/10 bit Uncompressed. Few are looking forward to ProRes to replace/add to DVCProHD workflow. Kano says that they have similar chips on their boards as Caldigit. Dulce, I have not idea. First time seeing/hearing about them.
Thx

May 21, 2007 at 1:25 pmI use them, love them and became a KANO sales rep over 2 years ago. They are very reliable and the customer service is up there with AJA. The best thing is that they can be fully customised. You won’t go wrong with KANO. Good Luck. John

You may find that changing. Keep in mind, ProRes422 is 10-bit, full raster HD as compared to DVCProHD, which is 8-bit anamorphic. Those are big differences.
