I am trying to create the ‘one color look’ that everyone is famlliar with from Schindler’s List. The actor is holding a glass of red wine, so what I want to do is desaturate the entire frame but keep the wine red. I also want this to go within a vignette. I have achieved the effect, but red pixels in the actor’s nose appear.

This is what I have done so far:
    1. V1: Oval shape
    2. V2: Clip. Has been color corrected, desaturated, and an additional color corrector filter with the limiter placed to isolate the color of the wine.
    3. V3: Copy of clip. Created 4 point garbage matte around the actor’s face so that it will appear without the red pixels.

The problem I am having is that the 4 point garbage matte on V3 reveals the actor’s face, but the black area of the matte is covering the rest of the image on V2. Am I supposed to put V3 into some type of composite mode? How do I allow the mask on V3 to show and at the same type, let the rest of the image on V2 show through?

    How would you handle this?
