Good day – I’ve completed a project that needs to be posted online. Shot with a Sony HDR-FX 1, cut in FCP, no problems. I assumed my target size would be 360×270, based on the original 1440×1080 aspect ratio. I can export an MPEG-4 file that looks great and is under 100MB, and although the ‘maintain aspect ratio’ box was checked, it still looks stretched vertically. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    cheers

    I think it should be 480 x 270.
That 1440 is what the camera shot, but that is a non square pixel.
When that 1440 plays back it would be 1920, so you need to calculate your resize based on that.
    This is my assumption.
    Hope it helps
