I’m working on an animation right now where i have a field of wheat. Right now its pretty static and I was wondering if any of you have successfully pulled off a nice looking plant animation. I read a tutorial in computer arts mag about how to make leaves move using expressions, but I’m having a harder time applying those techniques to a field of wheat. Any Ideas?

Create a stalk in a pre-comp, then deform it using Bezier Warp. You can easily tie the controls to expressions. Then you only have to duplicate everything. If you have Particular, you might also want to try my preset on my website.

Thanks a lot! Duh, I cant believe I didnt think of that. I use warp all the time, your presets for windows unfortunatly. Looks like it could be of some real help though.

Do-able but you might get away with a simple displacement map.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
