I cut a project yesterday on FCP studio. It’s an 8 bit NTSC project from and to Beta SP. everything was fine. I was able to monitor it as always looping through my PVW 2800 Deck.

Today I had a client with Mini DV footage. I used easy set-up to create a new project with for DV. I imported via firewire from mu DV deck to FCP. I wasn’t able to see anything on my monitor.

Now I’ve gone back to my Beta SP project, and all I see are the system color bars from FCP, no video. Any idea as to what I may have done, and how to get back to where I want to be? (outputting back to Beta SP.

FYI, I have a dual boot system on a Mac G5 Quad. I use Media 100Hde with an Aja OEM board, and FCP 5.1.4 on the other drive. The system works great!! Thanks in advance for your help.

Did you change the cables so you could monitor the DV? i.e. loop thru your DV deck just as you do with the Betcam? If so put them back?

You do need to change the DV out to be your card instead too. i.e. in the A/V settings’ last tab… change it to your card instead of FireWire which it probably is sitting on now maybe?
