I am looking for a way to watch my 30 minute documentary in 15 minutes – just to preview at a faster pace. I know I can scrub, but is there a way to press a button and sit back and watch it in a faster than reality pace without having to hold the scrub bar for 15 minutes?

Heck, push “L” several times and watch it even faster!
    K will stop.
J will slow it down each setp if already running fast forward.
J will, if stopped, do the same progressive speed playback in reverse.

Of course, it won’t allow you to see or hear it properly.

Why not just have one less cup of coffee and watch it at normal speed?

[Ben Holmes] “Why not just have one less cup of coffee and watch it at normal speed?”

Wouldn’t that give you time for an extra cup?

Coffee? Lord, if I have to review anything I wish would go by faster, I’m doing a shot of Jim Beam!

[bbalser] ” I’m doing a shot of Jim Beam!”

Why not make it a double shot!
