I know exporting to compressor from Final Cut may not be the preferred method but sometimes I like to go this route to preserve markers.

My problem is a simple 5 minute timeline may take up to 5 minutes to “export to compressor”. I have 4 other FCP systems here and all of them export this same timeline almost instantaneously. Why does this system take so long? I have re-installed compressor, deleted preferences and even deleted .plist files.

    Thanks

I am not sure this would help, but have you…?

    – Repaired disk permissions
    – Done hardrive maintenance
    – Replaced the B-Tree
    – Deleted FCP’s preferences

Maybe a full re-install, I know – I know – it sucks, but that has been our only choice a couple
    of times for us.

I have everything you talked about but replace the B-Tree. How do I do that?

Yeah, and I agree I may just be headed toward a full re-install

    Thanks

B-tree = use DiskWarior or Drive Genius
These are options only. Re-install may be the solution.

    Good Luck!

Thanks for the help. Hopefully the re-install will work.
